Google Ad types

As above their are four types of ad that you can have on Google.
Let’s get into a brief description of each:

Search Ads:

Search ads appear next to Google search results when people look for products and services you offer. You only pay per click, impression or call to your business depending on which type you choose.  Search ads are especially useful to business’ needing to attract instantaneous business such as someone looking for a plumber in their local area – this would be the perfect ad type to choose for that. See the example below; I searched for ‘plumbers in lincoln’ and the result included ads that have immediate and relevant call to actions.  The first offers a convinient ‘book now’ action in addition to a ‘1 hr emergency action’. See Google’s page all about search ads here.

The next ad type is video and Youtube ads:

Any video uploaded to YouTube can be an ad. Pre-roll video ads appear before other videos on YouTube. Other video ads appear beside playing videos and in search results.  This is an especially good ad option if you are advertising very visually and would better portray your product or service with a video.  You can also modify your ad so that it only shows with relevant videos; therefore your ad will have the best chance of being seen by interested viewers. Display ads are another popular choice:

With display ads you can create a variety of ads from, text, image and video ads to interactive ads.  The diplay network is very versatile in terms of where your ads appear.  They can be featured in Google shopping and also on Youtube with relevant videos and on relevant websites.  Therefore your ads really are being shown to interested, prospective customers.  See some examples below and click here to view Googles guide to Display ads.

The final ad option is a mobile ad:

Mobile ad’s are especially useful as internet mobile use is becoming ever so more popular as time goes on – 75% of adults will use a smart-phone in 2017.  Click here to view Google’s page about mobile ads.

As you can see, you have many options when it comes to choosing the best ad for you.  Take into consideration the demographics of your audience, and the relevance of your ad to it’s placement.
